Marco believes the family, not the government, is the most important unit in American society. Families are how we pass down our values to the next generation, and if the family breaks down, society breaks down. That’s why he is an advocate for pro-family policies like the child tax credit, school choice, job training, adult education, and changes in welfare policies to encourage families to stay together. We should not have any incentives in our tax code or our safety net programs that discourage people from getting married.
Marco is pro-life and believes no human right is more fundamental and more sacred than the right to life, and every human being is entitled to the protection of our laws. In the years since the Supreme Court’s erroneous decision in 1973, the lives of roughly 60 million babies have been terminated, denying them the right to life. It is a simple fact that the vast majority of these deaths were for reasons that had nothing to do with rape, incest, or the life of the mother is endangered. This abortion epidemic is an atrocity, and Marco prays for the day that it ends.
Marco supports school choice because all children deserve the best possible education. The jobs of the 21st century require quality education and trapping kids in a failing school prevents them from reaching their full potential. Education is primarily a state and local issue, but Marco believes in encouraging school choice where appropriate at the federal level. He has introduced legislation to ensure every parent and child has access to a school that best suits their learning needs and where they can thrive and go on to become America’s future leaders.
