| MIAMI, FLA. — The Rubio campaign put out the below statement after Val Demings released an ad about Senator Rubio’s belief in protecting the right to life: “Val Demings is a pro-abortion extremist. In the House, she’s voted for abortion up until the moment of birth, but Demings repeatedly refuses to say that out loud now because she knows how radical that sounds to the people of Florida,” said Elizabeth Gregory, communications director for Marco Rubio for Senate. “Marco Rubio is proud to be unequivocally pro-life and has consistently reaffirmed his belief in the dignity of the unborn.” Demings has repeatedly refused to say at what point she believes an abortion should no longer be legal. Demings’ Extreme Stances on Abortion: -Demings voted in favor of abortions after twenty weeks. -Demings voted to allow taxpayer dollars to be used for abortions. -Demings opposes the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to give the same medical care to an infant born as a result of a botched abortion as they would to any other child born at the same gestational age. Demings has a 100% rating from both NARAL and Planned Parenthood, groups that only endorse candidates they know are in line with their extreme stances on abortion. |
