MIAMI, FLA. — Val Demings solidified her spot in the school lockdown camp at the American Federation of Teachers Convention in Boston, praising the organization’s president Randi Weingarten.
“Leadership is not easy,” Demings said at the convention. “I really do believe in giving honor to whom honor is due and I want to start by giving honor to your president, the amazing Randi Weingarten.”
As Guy Benson put it on his radio show, “She loves Randi.” But America’s parents certainly don’t.
“Val Demings’ effusive praise for school lockdown leader Randi Weingarten shows Florida parents she cares more about appeasing teachers unions than their children’s educations. Weingarten led the fight to keep kids across the country out of school for months, which contributed to unprecedented learning loss for an entire generation, and Demings endorsed it. Demings is putting party politics over the education and wellbeing of our nation’s children,” said Elizabeth Gregory, communications director for Marco Rubio for Senate.
