| MIAMI, FLA. — Val Demings has become Florida’s most vocal champion of Joe Biden’s tax hikes and Build Back “Better” agenda, she revealed in an interview with Florida Politics. In the past several weeks, Demings, Biden and her Democrat friends in Washington have shown Floridians exactly what Build Back “Better” means to them:Encouraging thousands of illegal immigrants to breach our border after months of ignoring a burgeoning crisis.Depriving states like Florida of access to much-needed, life-saving COVID treatments.Abandoning Americans and our Afghan allies on the world stage. Here’s what “fiscal responsibility” looks like to Demings:Forty separate tax increases, totaling an eye-popping $2 trillion.Tax hikes that would decrease after-tax income for the lower- and middle-class. Higher taxes for 1.4 million American small businesses employing 13 million Americans. Lower taxes for the wealthiest Americans in blue states. Meanwhile, the only Democrat to oppose the Ways and Means Committee’s $2.1 trillion portion of the legislation was Demings’ former primary opponent, Stephanie Murphy. “If Val Demings thinks $3.5 trillion in tax hikes counts as being ‘fiscally responsible,’ she hasn’t spent much time talking to the Florida families and small businesses that would bear the brunt of this cost.
