Rubio Campaign Statement on Demings’ Becoming Democrat Nominee

MIAMI, FLA. — The Rubio for Senate campaign released the following statement after Val Demings officially became the Democratic nominee:

“Marco Rubio has consistently delivered huge wins for Florida families, working across the aisle to improve the lives of people throughout the state. Meanwhile, Pelosi Puppet Val Demings votes for Joe Biden’s failing agenda 100% of the time and would be a rubber stamp for Democrats’ radical agenda in the Senate. Demings is desperately hoping Floridians will look past her record in Washington but this November, Floridians will remember that while Marco delivers results, Val Demings is just another radical rubber stamp,” said Elizabeth Gregory, communications director for Marco Rubio for Senate.

All Demings has done in Congress is rename a couple of post offices.

That’s a stark contrast with Rubio’s record. As Politico reported“every few months Biden signs a bill with Rubio’s fingerprints on it.”

Rubio’s numerous accomplishments include:
-Creating the Paycheck Protection Program at the beginning of the pandemic, saving over half a million Florida small businesses and six million Florida jobs.
-Doubling the Child Tax Credit for working families, which was proven to benefit lower income communities in particular.
-Creating accountability at the Department of Veterans Affairs and is making it possible for veterans with toxic burn pits exposure to get access to care.
-Making important headway on Everglades restoration efforts, driving historic levels of federal funding to improve water quality and manage invasive species, leading the New York Times to call him “the national park’s most vigorous champion in the Senate”.
-Expanding treatment options for children battling cancer.
-Successfully protecting Florida’s low income housing tenants from slumlords.

The Center for Effective Lawmaking (CEL), an initiative of the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University, named Rubio the most effective Republican senator, and another nonpartisan analysis at GovTrack ranked him as the Senate’s second top leader in 2020 and 2019. The Lugar Center and the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University’s Bipartisan Index ranked him in the top quarter of all Senators.
