Demings Cheers on Senate Dems as They Force Americans to Fund Their Campaigns, Attack Election Integrity

October 20, 2021

MIAMI, FLA. — As the Senate takes up the so-called “Freedom to Vote Act” today, Val Demings is cheering on Democrats’ efforts to force hardworking Floridians to fund radical campaigns like hers.

The Democrats’ bill includes a slew of actions that would diminish the integrity of Florida elections, such as banning voter ID, overriding state and local law to effectively federalize elections, and forcing taxpayers to fund candidates they don’t believe in. This would be a major blow to election integrity efforts, and would prevent Florida election officials from doing their jobs to support our democracy.

“As Joe Biden’s disastrous economic agenda continues to cost Americans more at the grocery store and at the gas pump, Val Demings wants to force Floridians who don’t even support her candidacy to fund her radical campaign,” said Elizabeth Gregory, communications director for Marco Rubio for Senate. “Once again, Demings is putting the interests of her friends on the far-left, like Nancy Pelosi and the Socialist Squad, over the well-being of Floridians.”
